The basic goal of the project is to introduce young students into the exciting world of asteroids, comets and meteors and their interactions with planets in our solar system. Some simple calculations and exercises related to orbits, planetary sciences and small solar system body dynamics are envisaged. These projects would give a basic introduction into small body solar system astronomy in a theoretical sense. In parallel, a short visit to one of the top observatories in India is also planned so that students get to see the telescopes, interact with astronomers in an observatory setting plus have a quick look at the celestial objects with a good telescope if the sky is clear. During the course of the project, the kids will get a flavour of the magic of solar system objects in terms of the aesthetics of its theory & real celestial beauty!
