The objective of the Film workshop is to create empathy and teamwork in the participants through films.The workshop will consist of watching and analyzing short films and doing some shooting exercises in groups and pairs. Each session will begin with screening of a short film followed with a guided discussion, which will form the first part of the session. The second part will have a hands on exercise, followed by wind-up discussion. There is no pre-requisite for the workshop.
In the workshop, we will watch several short films from across the globe, not only to analyze their craft but also see life and people in those places. We will relate to some of those characters and empathize with them.
Through the exercises, the students will be encouraged to listen to each other patiently, try to understand each other, know each other’s aspirations, backgrounds, beliefs etc. They will also be made to work in groups to understand the group dynamics better. The students will get a chance to practice visual media while working on the exercises.
